Loveswell Birth is the doula practice of Maris James, CD, CBE, CBC. She offers birth, postpartum and lactation/feeding support and education to families throughout New York City. Maris loves connecting with and bearing witness to expectant and new parents during these times of profound transformation in their lives.
There is no right way to give birth. As a support person, I work to facilitate each family’s unique preferences without bias, in the setting of their choice. My intention is to help clients feel safe, empowered and informed throughout pregnancy and birth.
My primary goal as a postpartum doula is to nurture growing families, focusing on the needs of the parent(s) and baby. In my visits, I seek to work myself out of a job by helping new parents prepare, troubleshoot, heal, rest, feed and enjoy their new babies.
